DESCRIPTION
Employment Type: Regular Full/Part Time: Full Time Division: Commercial Location: MIAMI OFFICE GENERAL FUNCTION: Develops new business for the Merchant Services group. Contacts prospective merchants for credit card processing. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Establishes new service relationships through fully executed services agreements and contracts. Merchants must have a credit card volume between $250,000 to $25 million. Develops in-depth expertise of MPS products and pricing. Ensures the customer is set up on our system, processing transactions, and is billed according to their MPS agreement. Develops and executes strategy for selling MPS and other SPS services to assigned prospects. Identifies new prospects and revenue opportunities for MPS services. Develops a prospect list and continually calls on prospects. Writes proposals and letters to prospects that confirm dialogue, clarify issues, and document resolutions. Educates prospects on MPS advantages. Evaluates prospect’s strategic plan to ensure MPS remains an integral part of their processing environment. Identifies prospect issues and problems then notify MPS management. Responds promptly to prospect inquiries and requests, coordinates activities of appropriate MPS personnel to address prospect issues. Provides MPS management with regular status reports, both written and verbal, regarding prospect status. Completes a call report for each prospect meeting. Provides a thorough written document to MPS conversion and account management groups detailing any new relationship generated by the sales representative. Maintains an awareness of competitors’ products and pricing, including new trends and developments in the industry. May act as a mentor to sales representatives(s) with less experience. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: A four-year degree or equivalent sales experience is required. The ability to clearly communicate credit card processing verbally and in written form is a mandatory requirement of this position. Organizational and time management skills are also required.
